A 200' (Trex) boardwalk connects the front of the house with the beachfront gazebo. The landscaped grounds measure out at almost an
acre, and the house is set back 200 feet from the road (unusual for Caribbean
villas on Grand Cayman). See the aerial picture (after Hurricane IVAN '04)
to left...your privacy is assured. I have two
empty lots to the East, and my neighbor has three empty lots to his West. Many
homes on the Northside of the island (especially Cayman Kai) are very close to
the road (less than 50 feet!!)..With that aerial shot you see everything..no
unpleasant surprises like renting next to a public beach, mosquito swamp, restaurant, watersports resort,
public boat ramp, etc...the oceanfront is residential for almost a mile (each way) from our beach. While the house may appear (in these pictures) as
"too remote/isolated"...we are 2.5 miles from a modern fire station, 2
miles from the police precinct, 2 miles from the medical clinic
(ambulance)...and the island uses a "911" emergency telephone system.
Grand Cayman uses "American Standard" electricity (110 v), U.S.
dollars are accepted (as are credit cards), and they use U.S. phone
jacks/systems. I provide free DSL internet service in the main house (wired & sometimes wireless!).
